How to use AI to plan your week

Most weeks start with a pile of loosely related to-dos and no clear order. An AI assistant is good at sorting a pile, as long as you tell it the limits of your real week.

Dump everything first, then ask for structure

Write or paste every task as it comes to mind, without tidying. Then ask for grouping and a short list of priorities.

Copy and adapt
Here is my to-do list: [paste it]. Group these into 3 or 4 categories, then tell me the 3 I should do first if I only have 2 hours today. Give a one-line reason for each.

The plan gets better with real limits

Generic plans come from generic prompts. Add the constraints that actually shape your days:

  • Fixed commitments: school pickup at 3, a shift on Wednesday
  • Your energy: "I think best in the morning and fade after 3"
  • What is flexible and what is not
  • What you are tempted to avoid

Turn it into a weekly habit

Save a version of your favorite prompt in a note and reuse it every Sunday or Monday. Paste in this week's list, adjust the constraints, and you have a plan in a minute.

Weekly version
Plan my week. Fixed commitments: [list]. Tasks: [list]. I have about [X] free hours on weekdays and [Y] on the weekend. Put the most important task first each day, leave a buffer, and tell me what you would drop if I run out of time.

Keep it honest
