How to use AI to prepare for a job interview
An AI assistant is a patient practice partner that never gets tired of your third attempt at the same answer. Use it to rehearse, not to put words in your mouth.

Start from the job description
Paste the public job posting and a short summary of your own experience. Leave out anything confidential about your current employer.
Here is a job posting: [paste]. Here is a short summary of my background: [paste, no confidential details]. List the 8 questions I am most likely to be asked, including two about a gap or weakness the posting might raise.
Practice one question at a time
Act as the interviewer. Ask me one question at a time, wait for my answer, then give me feedback on clarity and specifics before asking the next. Start with "Tell me about yourself".
Type your answer as if you were speaking. Ask for feedback on length, on whether you gave a concrete example, and on anything that sounded vague.
Shape your real stories
Many questions are really "tell me about a time when...". Ask the assistant to help you outline a true story as situation, what you did, and the result, then tighten it to about a minute. The facts must be yours.
Prepare your own questions
Ask for five thoughtful questions to put to the employer, based on the posting. Choose the two that you actually want answered.
